In 2012, Madison Elle Beer posted videos of her singing cover songs of well-known songs. Within a couple of months, pop star Justin Bieber came across her version of Etta James' "At Last" and shared it with his 25-million-plus followers on Twitter. The media attention that followed led her to a record contract with Island Records and a management deal with Bieber's manager the following year. In the meantime, Beer was also cast as a minor character in the film Louder Than Words, which included David Duchovny and made its premier at the festival late in 2013.
